Seven In Ten Americans Face Financial Stress During Holiday Season

A survey of 2,000 Americans reveals 69% consider the holiday season the most financially stressful time of year. Half are “dreading” the holidays due to financial pressures, with 54% fearing the season’s monetary demands. The stress diminishes festive feelings, as 58% say financial obligations remove holiday joy. To cope, 76% plan celebration changes and 54% will make “sacrifices” to save money. Cost-cutting measures include strict gift budgets (36%), skipping new decorations (36%), avoiding expensive meals (21%), and foregoing Christmas trees (17%).
